When you visit a site that supports OpenID, you can typically login using any OpenID provider. An OpenID provider allows you to login to other sites by proving that you "own" a specific URL - your OpenID profile at your provider. To login to a participating site, you enter your OpenID URL. That site then directs you to your OpenID Provider to login. After logging in, you are then directed back to the site you visited and you are now logged in.
When you use openparty.net as your OpenID Provider, the process is the same -- but when it's time to login to openparty.net, you don't need a password! Use the PassFree Firefox add-on to login to openparty.net with the click of a button, or set your PassFree add-on preferences to automatic-login and enjoy not have to do anything beyond pasting your OpenID URL at the participating site.
